The Power of Multiple Stories

I’ve always felt that it is impossible to engage properly with a place or a person without engaging with all of the stories of that place and that person. The consequence of the single story is this: It robs people of dignity. It makes our recognition of our equal humanity difficult. It emphasizes how we are different rather than how we are similar…  when we reject the single story, when we realize that there is never a single story about any place, we regain a kind of paradise.

PA-MOJA Butterfly Effect is adding the element of story to its new platform. Building off of conversations we have had with all of our affiliated schools, students and teachers we have realized the incredible value in the telling of stories. This new platform will still have Inquiry Based Learning as seen previously, but we will also be providing a platform for students to tell their own personal stories developing stronger relationships and understanding of one another.

We also will be looking at projects we can do together with a common goal. These Project Based Learning opportunities or “ACTION” will be encouraging students to form teams across continents and dive into ways to pursue the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Butterfly Effect will provide the platform for students to work together.

TOGETHER we are stronger.
